About
Background
I grew up in North Ryde, Sydney. I studied Actuarial Studies at Macquarie University after doing well in mathematics at school.
The degree built a foundation in probability, statistics, financial mathematics, and analytical problem-solving. That background later became useful in machine learning, data analysis, and software engineering.
During university, I also spent a lot of time tutoring mathematics and training seriously in powerlifting.
After graduating, I took time away from a traditional corporate path, travelled, and continued tutoring.
Since then, my path has moved through health-tech startups, fintech, industrial IoT, test infrastructure, and AI-assisted learning tools.
The common thread has been following interesting problems, learning quickly, and working with good people.
Learning to Meditate
In 2016, I attended my first 10-day Vipassana meditation course in the S.N. Goenka tradition. Since then, I have returned for regular retreats, spent time volunteering on courses, and now maintain a daily practice.
It has become one of the steadier threads in my life.
What I'm Building
Pāli Notes
A tool for studying Pāli texts and experimenting with AI-assisted language analysis.
The project started as a vocabulary and grammar study tool, but I've recently been exploring structured AI workflows: token-level analysis, grammar/morphology checks, structured JSON outputs, prompt strategies, model comparisons, token/duration tracking, evaluation metrics, and ways to test whether AI-generated analysis is accurate and useful.
The product challenge is making complex linguistic analysis easier to inspect, compare, and learn from.
YouTube Channel
I'm experimenting with making videos to explore ideas and learn the craft of content creation. Still early, but enjoyable.
